Content and image rights
This page explains how the platform treats rights in scientific text, cited sources and images. It describes what the platform itself does. It grants no licence, and it does not speak on behalf of rightsholders.
What this platform is
HUWAT publishes Fishes of Saudi Arabia: a scientific reference for fishes documented in Saudi territorial waters, built from published sources with every record tied to the source it came from.
Scientific facts and cited sources
- Many of the facts, measurements and names in this encyclopedia come from third-party scientific works and databases, and they remain attributable to their original sources.
- A citation in the encyclopedia does not transfer copyright or ownership of the cited work to the platform.
- Sources are shown with each record so a reader can go back to the original work and check it for themselves.
Images and media
- Images and media may carry rights, licences, permissions or restrictions separate from the encyclopedia’s text.
- The platform renders publicly only media explicitly approved for public display. What is not approved is not shown, and nothing is substituted in its place.
- Public display of an image here does not automatically mean unrestricted reuse.
- Anyone wishing to reproduce an image should follow the rights or licence information shown for that asset, or contact the relevant rightsholder.
Platform identity and design
HUWAT branding and logo, and the platform’s own design and original content, remain subject to their own rights.
Questions about rights
